Liberty Fabrics has a wonderful new quilting fabric collection called The Artist's Home Collection. This fabulous collection was inspired by the wonder and dreaminess of an artist's home. It is filled with vibrant details, eclecticism and wonderful colors all meant to further inspire you. Liberty's designers were influenced by historic homes, country side escapes, Yves Saint Laurent's Idyllic Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, Barbara Hepworth's sculpture studio and the gardens on the Cornish Coast.
This huge collection of fabrics from Liberty is divided into Watercolour Garden Collection, Painted Sunset Collection, and Sculpture Collection. There are 15 prints in each collection. I choose to work with Sculpture Collection to create a new quilt pattern called Brioche. Laying out similar blocks diagonally from one another and flipping the direction of the blocks created an interesting affect as if the pieces of fabric were being braided almost like a loaf of Brioche bread.
This quilt is so much fun to make as it can all be cut out at once or in sets of five as well as it is a great quilt to chain piece. (HINT - it's a fast make)
The digital download for Brioche may be purchased from my Etsy Shop HERE.
Here's close up of this fun and interesting quilt...
I truly hope that you will consider making a version of this quilt for someone special in your life or for yourself. If you do make it, please post it on instagram and tag me @neverlandstitches
Until next time - Happy Sewing!
